Palomar Baptist Church

Palomar Baptist Church is a Southern Baptist congregation located in the Bluegrass Region of central Kentucky. The church was incorporated on April 19, 1994.

With a call to international as well as local ministry, the congregation adopted as their mission statement compassion for all people and a goal to promote a worship, ministering and evangelistic fellowship under the guidance of the Holy Spirit with a commitment to spreading the Gospel "as if Christ were returning tomorrow."

In addition to being a Southern Baptist curch, Palomar belongs to a local fellowship of Baptist churches known as the Elkhorn Association, a state fellowship known as the Kentucky Baptist Convention.

Both the local and state organizations work to enhance church and spiritual development on a regional level. The SBC, organized in 1845, is the largest Protestant denomination in the United States. 2001 statistics place U.S. membership at 15.8 million and more than 40,000 churches.

Southern Baptists have a strong commitment to proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the world to everyone. To this end, Southern Baptists sponsor an estimated 5,000 home missionaries and over 4,000 foreign missionaries serving in 126 nations of the world.
